Enoteca

One of Mario Batali’s (guy from the food network) restaurants located in the Venetian hotel in Las Vegas. Enoteca is situated at the San Marco’s square in the shopping/restaurant area. I like the location. It is fun to watch all the people and it sort of gives you a sense of being in Italy (I say sort of because I have been to the real San Marcos square in Venice.) It is loud, you get to experience daylight and evening all in about an hour or so (with their fancy use of lighing), and there is entainment to watch.

I enjoy sitting in the circular bar area. This allows me to order less food than I would feel obligated to do if I sat at one of their tables. I know that there isn’t any particular requirement when it comes to ordering, it just comes from my sense of quilt. I don’t want to take up a whole table if I’m only planning to order appertizers since the waiter will lose out on valuable income (tips.)  My husband and I ordered the cheese platter once. I think we chose five of their many cheeses and then it came with bread and condiments. I’ve also had their 4 cheese pizza which was very good.  I also sat at one of their tables once, but by the time we had ordered appetizers, two entrees, a class of wine, a soda, a dessert, and a cup of coffee the cost had far exceeded $100 and to me the food has to be really outstanding to be willing to cough up $150-$200 for a dinner for two. So I go mostly go there for the atmosphere, and I usually sit at the bar. It is quite the place to do people-watching, and it will cost you in the neighborhood of $40-$50 for a glass of wine or two and one or two appetizers. I go to have fun and enjoy the atmosphere and I save my more for more important pursuits (such as gambling.)
