Tapico Drinks

Tapico drink or Boba which is another popular name for it, is something I just encountered last year. My first encounter with them was at a Dim Sum restaurant in San Diego. I was hooked the first time I tried one. Initially, I thought it was only a Chinese Dim Sum item. As it turns out, there are chain-stores across Asia and North-America specializing just in these drinks. If I’m not mistaken, the drink originated in Taiwan less than 20 years ago.

Boba drinks are fun for kids and adults alike. If you want a non-alcoholic and flavorful drink with lots of options, this is worth a try. There are so many flavors and varities to choose from. I’ve only tried a handful of different flavors. I’ve had Thai Ice Tea Boba, Strawberry Milk Tea Boba, Passion-Fruit Milk Tea Boba and Mango Milk Tea Boba just to mention a few. I’m not sure what the ingredients are in these drinks. I assume there are artificial flavors in them, so I don’t think that they are very healthy. There are several Boba stores in San Diego. Tea & More is one. Another and my favorite is Tapioca Express.
