One Of Laguna Beach best kept secrets
is the beach located right below Montage Beach And Resort. Live the life of the rich and famous and pay only $5 for valet parking at the hotel. Then walk the landscaped pathway from the top of the cliffs down to the sandy beach below. It is one of the best kept secret in Laguna Beach.
A few years back the Treasure Island mobile home park was situated on the same property on which there is now a five star resort. In order to get to the beach one either had to walk through the mobile park which had restricted access to only those who lived there, or one could trek the long way from Aliso Beach which was not an easy walk when one was carrying all the necessary accoutrements one needed for a day at the beach.
Now, you can park in the parking lot of the hotel (which will cost you more than $5 in quarters and there is a three hour limit) or you can valet park for only $5 for an entire day. You probably should tip the valet at least $1, especially if he has been holding the car door open for you while you have been brushing the sand off your shoes and shorts and loading all of the above mentioned accoutrements back into your car.

(Editor’s note- Mr. Pepperpot is indeed a friend of ours, and I know for a fact that the below comment about it being a nude beach and guests running around with handguns is a joke and not to be taken seriously.)
This is also the place of nude guests racing about with handguns, so please beware. I prefer the murky, oily waters of Venice Beach, where I can pose down with the Muscle Beach crowd before hitting the surf.
My bitterness has nothing to do with my ouster from said trailer park several years ago. Grmmph!
Herman Pepperpots
Oh, Mr. Pepperpots, you are just too much!
They also have a nice bar where you can get a drink or buy chips and salsa in your swim trunks, while rubbing elbows with the rich and famous.
Just don’t make the mistake I did and write sloppily on the bill. They thought the tip was a $100 instead of $10, and when Ursula got the bill from Amex, she thought the waitress had done something extra special for that tip!
I am a friend and I am not to be taken seriously.
I did not read the LA Times article about the shenanigans at the resort. It was a typo perpetrated, I feel, by the obviously biased Liberal media. Thank you.
