Javier’s Irvine Spectrum

Hip Mexican restaurant. Beautiful people. Small margaritas (smart thinking, owners!) I had to order two when I normally only order one drink for dinner. Giant plates of food. Good quality food, but I like Chevy’s better. Fun and loud atmostphere.

I’ll go there again just for the people watching. But I would probably only want to order chips, salsa and margaritas, and that would probably mean eating at the bar, and not getting to enjoy the comfy leather-like booths we had when we went there on Cinco de Mayo.

We went there with a good friend of ours after a fun-filled day at the beach in Laguna. Thought we would have to wait for hours to get a table. Ian was clever and called the restaurant on our way there, and the hostess agreed to put our name down. Glad we did, because the wait appeared to be a long one. Javier’s is truly a beautiful restaurant.

There is a sister restaurant in downtown Laguna, but I have not tried that one.

Hello, all! I also have ventured to Javier’s at the Irvine Spectrum - quite a place. It has the exterior look of a Persian palace, but inside it is delightful. The look is like PF Chang’s, and you are entirely right about the beautiful people. Booths of heavenly vixens abound, and the salsa has quite a bite, enticing you to order more alcohol.

I recommend this haunt thoroughly, especially if you are looking for tasty food and drunk, giggling women. I felt like I was on an island full of Amazons - not that I am short, or fat, or ugly. har har har

Good eats, also a thumb’s up!

We should meet up at Javier’s soon. Perhaps when I’m back from my trip to Europe.

If I had a nickel for every hot skinny blond I saw there on Cinco de Mayo, I would have enough money to go back and get the unreal seafood enchiladas again.

Ho, Hum, but I didn’t get a nickel for each of them. I am only left with the fading memories, of the stolen glances. I will probably have to wait till next year. But this time I will wear sunglasses!

We were back at Javier’s this past weekend with a good friend of ours. The place was packed and the earlierst reservation we were able to get were three hours later. We decided to try to capture the popular patio seats in the bar area instead. We were lucky and got a table within 10 minutes. This is actually my favorite place to sit in the restaurant, especially during a warm summer evening. We ordered food and drinks and of course got full on the chips and salsa before the food arrived. From our seats we had a great view of all the passerbys and all the hot California girls that our friend (and Ian) enjoy watching. ;)
