Irvine Spectrum

Irvine Spectrum is the entertainment capital of Orange County. It is located when the I-5 and I-405 freeways merge/split.

It has grown tremendously over the past few years. You’ll find a movie theatre, great restaurants, and many, many shops. It is a fun place to visit and there is something for everyone. The shops are open late during the weekend, until 10 PM. I recommend go shopping first, then visit a restaurant, and then see a movie last if you haven’t had enough entertainment.

I went there recently and saw a horrid film entitled Kickin’ It Old School. I assumed it was a poignant documentary about violence in the inner city schools (quite the plight), but instead was indulged with an inane breakdancing “comedy.”

Worst of all there were only a handful of other shocked victims in the audience - and I noticed a small group of people munching down a sack of clandestinely smuggled goodies. I felt slighted - these vagabonds didn’t even offer me a licorice!

Hm, I wonder if we were at the same movie? I may have been one of these people you are referring to who helped smuggle in chocolate chip cookes. We almost were caught bringing them into the theatre.

I saw Kickin it oldschool and laughed until I almost got sick. Ursula looked like she was asleep through most of it. For me it reminded me of my youth break dancing on the mean streets of my home town!

Well, that certainly gives away your age, Ian!

Today’s youth has no interest in kickin’ it, so the delusional and obviously aged filmmakers had no idea what would sell. I suspect the film companies should run ideas by me before wasting untold millions for drivel like this.

I did like the smuggled in snacks, however.

HP who does not kick it
