Bronx Pizza
We visited San Diego today. We came across a place I have heard of before called Bronx Pizza in Hillcrest. I have heard and read about it more than once. I was so excited when we came across it. The place was significantly crowded, not overly clean, and had lots of different options for slices available in the case. We got pepperoni, veggie plus pepperoni, and spinach ricotta. Ursula really liked it, and I thought it was pretty good. Good enough for me to eat there if I was in that area, but not to the point where I would drive all the way to San Diego for it.
They had garlic, oregano, Parmesan, and hot peppers on the table which was a huge plus! The people who worked there were very friendly and happy to help, while still giving it a New York flair. All in all a good to great experience.
Having nothing to do with the restaurant, just as we were about to walkout the door there was a huge boom. I ducked and scanned the scene wondering if it had been a bomb or a gun shot. I figured it must have been a car back firing. Just as we walked around the corner, there was a huge dead crow feet up on its back in the alley. Someone who had seen it said it flew into the transformer on the power line up above. It apparently got about a gazillion volts through it and it was instant Kentucky fried crow. Her apparent mate of it circled around for quite a while shrieking. I swear it was going “Frank! Frank! What happened! Frank!” If it is possible for a crow to sound panicky and tormented, this was it!

POP! Then BBQ crow. I still am debating whether it would have been an excellent time to try out bird CPR, or to have suggested to one of the homeless of the area to try cooked crow? (Can you eat crow? I have no idea!) I will have to wait till another day on that one. Live and learn!
