Best Chips And Salsa Anywhere
I believe that Chevy’s has the best chips and salsa of any mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to. I’ve been going to this restaurant chain for over a decade. I love their salsa which has a smokey flavor to it. Occasionally, it can be a little too hot (spicy). The chips are thin and crispy and are served warm. The tortillas are made fresh from their tortilla machine. If I’m in the mood for mexican food, this is still my restaurant of choice. I’m not much of a meat eater. My husband and I often share a dish (the portions are enormous) such as the fajitas. I’ll eat around the meat and order sides of guacamole and sour cream if our entree does not supply those. I wrap some black beans which by the way are awesome too (I do not know what spice they put in them, but they are delicious,), guacamole, sour cream, rice, and salsa in the warm tortillas, and that is about one of the best meals you can have. Slurp down a frozen margarita and I’m in heaven. As a side note I should say that about ten years ago when I went camping with my husband, we stopped at Chevy’s to pick up some food to go to bring with us. Our choice of camping food: Black beans, salsa and tortillas from Chevy’s. It tasted even better the next morning when we woke up tired and hungry after a long night trying to sleep on the hard ground.

I personally don’t like Chevy’s as much as she does. The service is usually fair, and it could be a little cleaner. The chips and salsa are the best in town, so who can disagree with that!
I like the chips and salsa - light and not as greasy and heavy as most places. I also love the tortillas that come out piping out from El Machino. I disagree the place is dirty - never encountered that. You must go to the Compton location.

I did not go to the Compton “Crump” location!
The bar area always smells just a tad greasyer and dirtier than a days use could create.
Just watch it next time you are there, you might just find a tortilla whizzing past your head!
And don’t expect any rendition of “Today is your birthday! and so we say to you….. blah blah blah!
I come in peace, friend. Just a fellow appreciator of the Chevy’s chips, tortillas and merriment. I certainly do not think the place is dirty.
Have you ever gone to the location in Burbank? It’s a nice one, and a close walk to Ikea across the street. Highly recommended.
As Lil Kim would say - peace out!
